The first statewide Festival of Alabama Fiber Arts will be held at Old Alabama Town on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31st. The Festival will provide nationally recognized experts to demonstrate and discuss forms of contemporary fiber art. Educational workshops and assistance on fiber techniques by experienced fiber enthusiasts will be offered. A juried fiber art exhibit will be on diskplay from March 1st through April 30th. “STEPS TO BECOMING ALABAMA” at the Department of Archives and History on Saturday, January 14, 2012 ,from 8:30-4:00. The program, composed of talks and tours of the new Museum of Alabama exhibits at the Archives, is another in the Cultural Crossroads series focusing on Alabama history and is a part of the on-going multi-faceted BECOMING ALABAMA programs.
