architects and important structures in historic Montgomery. Started
in 1967, Landmarks Foundation continues to foster, encourage and

Promenade 2003 offered three signature evenings prepared by talented
culinary designers and offered the warmth and hospitality of Montgomery’s
past.
THE SPRINGFORD HOME
Owned by Charlotte and Brent Springford – 1944 South Hull
Street
The
Springford home, built in 1918, is an elaborate creation by Frank
Lockwood. This jacket and tie event featured elegant dining in a
setting surrounded by electric collections from the owners’
travels. Accompanied by the inimitable cuisine of Martha Hicks,
this was an “out of the world” experience in sophistication
and downtown cool.
THE PICKLE PALACE
Owned by Pat and Milton McGregor – 1506 South Perry Street
Designed in 1920 by Frank Lockwood for pickle magnate L.B. Whitfield,
this stately home is pure Hollywood. Guests enjoyed dancing to the
tunes of Nat, Ella and Cole, and toasted the evening with cocktails
from the duo of Mar and Tini. Exquisite gourmet was provided by
Personal Touch caterers for a glamorous and star-studded evening.
CASA COLEMAN
Owned by Dee and Bill Coleman
Frank Lockwood designed this uniquely Spanish Colonial home and
garden for the Moulthrop’s in 1923. This exotic setting featured
living statuary, romantic guitars and veiled beauties that denoted
mystery, seduction and drama. Philip Goodwyn created savory flavors
to tantalize the soul at this “midnight at the oasis.”
