Seasonal Decoration Workshop

Montgomery, AL- Learn how to make a Living Wreath at a Seasonal Decorating Workshop at Old Alabama Town. The workshop is Saturday, November 18th at 10 am in the Old Alabama Town Reception Center. The Old Alabama Town Herb Society is the sponsor of this event. Reservations are requested, as space is limited. Materials for the Living Wreath will be available for purchase. Book Signing At Old Alabama Town

Montgomery, AL- Come celebrate Montgomery with a book signing at Old Alabama Town. Meet and mingle with local authors while getting a head start on your holiday shopping. The book signing will be Thursday, November 16th from 4 to 6 pm in the Reception Center at Old Alabama Town. Refreshments including wine, cheese and punch will be served. Authors on hand signing books include: Mary Ann Neeley, Montgomery & The River Region Sketchbook and The Way it Was; Julia Oliver, Devotion; Jeffrey Benton, A Sense of Place; Faye Gibbons, Mountain Wedding and The Day the Picture Man Came; Tom Bailey, The Alabama Roots Series; Joey Brackner, Alabama Folk Pottery; Robert Gamble, Silent in the Land and Historic Architecture in Alabama; Karen Pell, Alabama Troubadour; Katherine Helms, Alabama Rich in Flavor; Jay Lamar, The Remembered Gate and Joseph Trimble, Marty Makes a Difference and The Fisherman, The Farmboy and the Watermelon Patch. Special Ordeman House Guided Tours

Montgomery, AL- Join local historian Mary Ann Neeley for two in depth guided tours of Old Alabama Town’s Ordeman House and its outbuildings. The Ordeman House is a meticulously restored townhouse on its original site, which depicts upper class life in the mid 19th century. Not only is the Ordeman House Landmarks Foundation’s first restoration, it also houses one of the best collections of Southern decorative arts in the Southeast. The tours will be Sunday, November 5th at 1:30 pm and at 3 pm. The 1:30 pm tour is a special tour for Landmarks Foundation members. The cost of the tours is free to Landmarks members and $5 to the general public. Refreshments will be served after each tour. Reservations are requested, as space is limited.
