Here we answer questions that are not answered elsewhere in the site. In doing so we hope to answer as many of your questions as possible prior to arranging your visit to Old ALabama Town. We hope you find it helpful. Suggestions and comments are welcomed.
 Tours
 

Q: How long do the tours last?
A: School tours are 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours to include loading/unloading, bathrooms, introduction and a visit to the gift shop
Adult tours are 1-1/2 hours with additional time for breaks and shopping.
Self-guided tours allow you to may take as much time as you wish during working hours.

Q: What do we do in case of bad weather?
A: We continue in rain, but not when it is lightening, thundering or severe weather

Q: What time should we come when the weather is hot?
A: We open at 9 am and that is the best time when the weather is extremely warm as most of the buildings are not air-conditioned.

 Accessibility
 

Q: Are the buildings accessible for wheel chairs and strollers?
A: The reception center and a few of the buildings are accessible, but most are not.

Q: Is there is enough room for our tour bus to park?
A: Yes, we have special parking for buses.
Other vehicles like motor coaches and homes should park in the lot across from the visitors center.

Q: Is there a place to eat?
A: There are many good restaurants within walking distance open Monday through Friday and several fast food restaurants open on weekends. There is also a city park adjacent to Old Alabama Town for blanket picnicking.

Q: How can I become a school/group interpreter?
A: Our educational interpreters are carefully chosen. Call Florence Giles at 334-240-4517 for additional information and an application.
 Features

Q: Are there craft people every day?
A: As in the 19th century all of the crafts are not practiced every day. For this reason, repeated visits to Old Alabama Town are desirable. Please call for schedule details.
