to Rails Walking Tours with Mary Ann Neeley
October 22 - River, Rails and Rights
Historians Dr. Richard Bailey and Mary Ann Neeley will focus on
the historic role of transportation and associated significant sites
in the development of the Bus Boycott and Civil Rights Movement.
Tour begins at the Commerce Street entrance to the Tunnel and ends
at the Rosa Parks Museum entrance.
October 30 - Oakwood Cemetery
Visit historic Oakwood with Mary Ann Neeley where saints, sinners,
Republicans and Democrats all rest peacefully together on the high
hills overlooking the city. Tour will include portions of Scott’s
Free Burying Ground and the old Hebrew cemetery “Land Of Peace.”
Tour begins at main entrance gate.
Schedules
The times for both tours are 2 pm to 4 pm, and the cost is $4.00
for each. Landmarks members admitted free. Please wear comfortable
walking shoes. (Reservations suggested – Call 240-4515)
